MARIN PETROV KAVRAKOV
Born on 4 November 1953, the town of Sliven.
Education:
The Academy of the Ministry of Interior, Master’s degree in “Organization and management of the public order and security”.
Additional qualification:
Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, degree in “Law”.
Professional career:
19 August 2009: Regional governor of the Region of Sliven;
2003 – August 2009 – “Slivensko delo” weekly newspaper, manager;
He published the “Bulgaria” weekly – a supplement to the “Slivensko delo” weekly which propagates and elucidates the EU policy in Bulgaria. For this activity in 2007 the newspaper was nominated and presented with honorary plaque by the European Commission member Meglena Kuneva.
2007 – August 2009 – Municipal Council – Sliven, deputy chairman;
2003 – 2007 - Municipal Council – Sliven, chairman of the group of municipal councillors “For change”;
1991 – 2003 – manager and shareholder in joint-stock companies without state shares;
1990 – 1991 – trainee judge in the Regional Court, Nova Zagora;
1978 – 1990 – operational officer in the Ministry of Interior, in 1985 he inquired the act of terrorism in the “Sliven” hotel, the town of Sliven.
Achievements and awards:
Nominee and winner of the award “Benefactor of the Year” – the special “Public Support” award, 2006. It is awarded to people who lend support to sick, needy and disadvantaged people.
He has more than 100 publications in the local periodicals and electronic media. Some political essays and analyses are symbolic for the public and political life in the region, such as: “Red mobile phones against Red Grannies”, “The Great Catastrophe in the Ministry of Interior”, “Clonings and Satellites in the Bulgarian Socialist Party”, “Left Blinker, Right Turn = Accident” and many others in support to the GERB Political Party and dethroning the demagogic policy of the Triple coalition in the region and in Bulgaria.
His publications about the ancient history of the Bulgarian people, the Bulgarian calendar, the Bulgarian name traditions and the cultural life are very popular.
